The 3 Pillars of Health – Tactics High Performers Use to Avoid Burnout

What can sitting on a 3-legged stool teach us about living a healthy, happy life?

Well first, let’s look at what happens when one of the 3 legs of a stool starts to weaken?

Even just one weak leg causes the entire stool to wobble, and the other legs need to carry more weight. And eventually those other two legs will start to wear down from the added burden… and without immediate attention that stool will soon go down, taking you with it!

And just imagine how fast it would fall if all 3 of those legs weakened at the same time!

A 3-legged stool is a good way to assess the key aspects of our overall health and longevity. But rather than discussing weak table legs, lets imagine something much stronger, like 3 pillars of solid marble!

And so how do you see your health? Is it held up by thin, shaky legs… or rock solid pillars? Or somewhere in between… which description fits you better?

Regardless of how healthy you are now, let’s look at each pillar and how to improve them to build and maintain the foundation for a healthy, happy vibrant life.

Keep in mind as you read on, each pillar is essential and none of them can carry the load on their own!

Pillar #1 – Nutrition

The quality of our nutrition is really at the core of determining the quality of our lives.

And it’s also the basic cause of most of our physical sufferings and health problems today’s, a consistent lack of quality nutrition over our lifetimes. The foods and ingredients we have today, even if they’re organic, they’re just not good enough.

Our foods today seriously lack essential nutrients to support life… the soils have been depleted, over-farmed and wiped out by chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, etc. The nutrition levels of today’s fruits and veggies pale in comparison to levels of nutrition in fruits and vegetables grown decades ago.

For example, we would have to eat eight oranges today to get the same amount of Vitamin A as our grandparents would’ve had from eating just one!

The production process for what passes as “food” today literally de-natures what we eat, often destroying what little nutrition is actually there. Add to the mix artificial additives, colorings, preservatives and genetic modification… and we have a serious dilemma with our food supply.

In particular with children, more and more studies show that some food additives may interfere with hormones, growth and development and contribute to higher obesity levels.

We need better!

Pillar #2 – Detoxing

Detoxing is essential! Think about how often you shower, bathe, shave, wash and comb your hair. Do you groom yourself on the inside as much as you do on the outside?

We’ve got to clean out our bodies from all these toxins we’ve been taking in for years! All the prescription drugs, all the over-the-counter medications, cough medicines, allergy meds, etc… there’s just so much stuff in there that our body doesn’t react well to and holds on to it over time.

There are more than 80,000 toxic chemicals floating around our environment in some way since the industrial revolution. Hardly any have been regulated or even tested for safety.

All of this contributes to massive malfunctioning of our bodies. As we accumulate all this garbage, we start to break down and eventually this manifests itself in the form of disease and constant illness.

We’ve got to help our bodies clean out our organs so that our systems function to their full capacity and allow our body to take in all that essential nutrition we just mentioned.

But if your cells are already clogged up with all this garbage, there’s not enough room for new nutrients to come in. There’s no room for fresh oxygen to come in and nourish the body and allow it thrive.

On top of that, this is a serious drain on energy that could be used for other things, like getting out and enjoying life!

Pillar #3 – Stress Management

Okay, so are if you’re with me so far, great!

So, we’ve got nutrition, detoxing, and the third essential pillar of health is stress management. So we’re bombarded every day with stress. You’re probably very familiar with how stress can be a thief of joy and happiness.

Most of us have busy schedules. We do 1,000+ things throughout the course of the day and on top of that, we’ve got WiFi, cell phones and all kinds of electromagnetic waves hitting us in some capacity. And that’s not good!

We didn’t have all that 30, 40 years ago. So we’re living in an era where we’ve never seen this kind of stress… and hence, we’re seeing so much more disease spread all around.

So how do we manage stress effectively? That’s the key question.

What are you doing to relax deeply every day and put your nervous system into a state of calm and recovery?

Exercise, ample sleep, time outdoors, regular social interaction, enjoying hobbies and strong family relationships will help. Yoga, mediation, deep breathing and soothing music are things we rely on to help manage stress.

Healing, strengthening, soothing herbs are another way to help our bodies cope with the demands of life. A daily dose via teas, capsules or powder drinks is a great place to start. Learn more about Adaptogens here (link to funnel page)

Take Action

Find simple, easy things you can get started with right away… things that are going to at least give you a boost in some little way.

And that’s the most important part, showing up every day doing those little things over and over again. Then sure enough, you’ll be able to build your 3 pillars of nourishing, cleansing and managing stress in a more practical and effective way… and you’ll see how it becomes a natural part of who you are!

But the longer you put it off, the harder it’s going to be truly live healthy and happy. That’s the bottom line with everything.

So don’t procrastinate. Take action today.

Here’s your Homework:

  • Become Aware – ponder these things and examine how they affect your life…that’s the first step… then take action!
