So a plateau. You know what that is?
It’s a thing… but do you know what’s like to use it as verb? What it’s like to “plateau” in life or with whatever you’re doing? You basically stop making forward progress and you kind of just level off. It’s where things are steady and not necessarily getting any better and not necessarily getting any worse.
Maybe you’ve seen it at work, with relationships, your health, your fitness. For me, I know what it’s like to level off in my workouts. It seems to be big cycle with me. I usually have to find a new way to motivate myself to change and to try something new that will help me break through and get to a higher performance level.
And I think that’s so important for us to re-examine every day in our lives, especially with our health and nutrition. I know many people have some success in their weight loss goals, but then lose momentum, get bored and chase after new ideas. Too many people get side tracked this way and lose sight of what works. Or they didn’t realize at the time, but what they were doing wasn’t ever going to be sustainable for them over the long run.
But then again, sometimes the things that worked yesterday, don’t work for you today.
And that’s really coming down to having the motivation and the drive to break through to get super excited… and to get into massive action to really break through that plateau. And, keep that motivation up, even on the down days, and make a commitment to press forward regardless of your mood.
Self awareness and willingness to face your fears and and accept weaknesses can be a great starting point and something to help reignite your flame.
Or you know, it’s just a matter of changing things up, finding a better routine, simplifying and eliminating the stuff that probably distracts you. The word “sacrifice” does come to mind. The true meaning of sacrifice is to give something up so that you can have something better… a tradeoff that works in your favor.
So, in particular, with your health, with losing weight, boosting and energy performing better, we need to keep finding better ways to nourish our bodies. We need to keep evolving to build ourselves up to manage and reduce the multiple types of fatigue and stress we take on each day (physical, mental, emotional, etc).
The best way is to simplify our daily routine to focus on getting just a little bit better each day until we break through. Having the support, guidance, motivation and nutrition you need to get better and keep making progress day by day is what will lead you to a more fulfilling life.
So where do you start? Here’s a few places to get you thinking…
